What We Do: Improve Access to and Demand for
the Full Range of Contraception

All Access EKY is a collaboration between Appalshop, Kentucky Health Justice Network, and Power to Decide that works in ten Appalachian Kentucky counties to ensure young people have access to the full range of contraceptive methods. We combine storytelling, media making, youth empowerment, and community outreach to advocate for and increase access to all birth control options.

Our Service Area

All Access EKY serves the following Southeastern Kentucky counties: Floyd, Harlan, Knott, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Owsley, Perry, Pike, and Wolfe.

“Restricted Access” is a short film created by youth producers in Appalshop’s Appalachian Media Institute Summer 2019 progam.

In the hills of Eastern Kentucky, reproductive health is a subject that is rarely talked about. In “Restricted Access”, AMI youth explore the myths surrounding birth control, describe the encouragement they have gained through participation in All Access EKY, and interview young adults and health professionals about their experiences with birth control.
