What We Do: Improve Access to and Demand for
the Full Range of Contraception
All Access EKY is an initiative coordinated by the Kentucky Health Justice Network, Appalshop, and Power to Decide that works with ten Southeastern Kentucky counties to build support for programs and services to ensure young people have access to the full range of contraceptive methods.
Through a combination of education, storytelling, advocacy and community-organizing, All Access EKY is addressing the root cause of unplanned pregnancy in Southeastern Kentucky. Studies have shown that when young people have access to and correct information about birth control and reproductive health, as well as the opportunity to make decisions about their future, reductions in unplanned pregnancy are sure to follow.
Our Service Area:
All Access EKY serves the following Southeastern Kentucky counties: Floyd, Harlan, Knott, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Owsley, Perry, Pike, and Wolfe.
All Access EKY Coordinator & Producer Willa Johnson discusses her experiences with reproductive healthcare awareness and education in Southeastern Kentucky. This short film was created by youth producers from Appalshop's Appalachian Media Institute in 2011.
